Rick Sawyer is not only an experienced real estate broker but also the ranch broker for Hollister Ranch Properties. His knowledge of the area comes from being involved with hundreds of successful client transactions and over 30 years of full-time service. He has been a consistent multi-million dollar sales agent in Santa Barbara County since 1984 and was awarded "Realtor of the Year" for Lompoc Valley, CA in 1986.

Rick works with his wife, Kathy Sawyer, who is also a licensed real estate agent/Realtor. Together, they manage operations of a twelve-person sales team and provide property management services for clients. Their expertise spans across the state of California, and they are dedicated to offering customized services to meet clients' needs.

Professional Experience

Rick opened Sawyer Real Estate in 1988, managing operations of a twelve-person sales team. He is considered an expert for Home, Ranch, and Land sales in Santa Barbara County. He is a ranch owner and property broker at the Hollister Ranch, a private beachfront residential community just west of Santa Barbara along the Gaviota Coast. He also continues to be a long-standing Multiple Listing Service member in the Santa Barbara.

Notable Achievements

Rick has achieved many notable accomplishments throughout his career. He was awarded "Realtor of the Year" for Lompoc Valley, CA in 1986. He also served as a Hollister Ranch Board of Director member from 1999 to 2001.

Education, Training & Experience

Rick attended Midland School in Santa Ynez, CA from 1966 to 1970. He then attended United States International University from 1970 to 1971, followed by the University of California at Santa Barbara from 1974 to 1976. He obtained his California Real Estate License in 1984 and his California Real Estate Broker License in 1988. He has continued to update his knowledge through ongoing property management certifications and educational programs required by the State of California.

Personal

Rick was born and raised in West Los Angeles, moving to the Santa Ynez Valley in 1966 to attend Midland School. He has a background in film studies and English from the University of California at Santa Barbara. His poetry book, "Within the Shells, " was published in 1972. Rick married Kathy Barron in 1976, and they now have two married children and six grandchildren.

Rick has published a historical novel titled "Wildcatting - The Hills of Kettleman" in 2009 and produced the feature film "To Be Friends" in 2010. His family has been active with Natural Resource Exploration, California Ranching, and Land Development in the Santa Clarita Valley since the 1950s. This family legacy has given him a foundation for his real estate career.
