Unsatisfactory Experience with Engel
Reviewer I.C. had a six-year tenure with Engel-managed apartments and wouldn't recommend them or revisit them. They responded to emergency calls regarding water leaks, electrical issues, and plumbing problems, but ignored repeated pleas about holes left in the ceiling and broken windows. Engel representatives promised maintenance but failed to show up.
Bob F., another unhappy tenant, has been living in Chapel Park Apartments for over seven months. He has consistently complained about the lack of maintenance and poor management, yet the recent change in management has brought no improvement. Bob has even had to hire a lawyer to negotiate repairs to his apartment, which has been rendered partially unusable due to the company's negligence.
Peter L. warns renters to be cautious, referencing the Waterford Landings Apts. property in Hoover where two decks collapsed, causing fatalities. Engel's neglect was exposed, and only after the City of Hoover intervened did they post warnings.
