Our History

M. Robert Goldman & Company was founded in 1932 by the late Bob Goldman, a civil engineer turned mortgage banker. Over the past century, the firm has provided capital to the region's leading developers. Originally based in Manhattan, the firm's patriarch specialized in multi-family transactions during New York City's population growth during the early and mid-20th century. In the early 1950's, Bob's son Howard joined the firm, and the office was relocated to Brooklyn. In the 1960's, Bob's son Kenneth entered the business, and the firm moved back to Manhattan. By the 1980's, Howard entered the development business, and Kenneth's focus was on Long Island. In 1984, the office was relocated to Long Island, where it has remained for over 35 years. Today, the firm is led by Kenneth's son Jonathan, who joined the Company in 1989 and spearheaded the growth of both the Correspondent network and Servicing Platform.
