Our Story

Greenway's Real Estate and Auction Company began its journey in Covington, Virginia, founded by the visionary Ralph Greenway. In 1960, George Garten, recognizing the company's potential, acquired Greenway's and formed a strong partnership with Ralph, working collaboratively until George's passing in 1986. Throughout these years, George's son, Tommy Garten, immersed himself in the family business, gaining invaluable experience in both real estate and auction operations.

As Tommy's sons, Matt and Dizzy, entered the picture, their enthusiasm for the industry was undeniable. They eagerly joined the family undertaking, learning the intricacies of the trade from a young age. Matt and Dizzy followed in their father's footsteps, graduating from auctioneer school and subsequently earning their real estate broker's licenses and real estate salesperson's licenses, respectively.

Today, under the leadership of Matt and Dizzy, Greenway's has blossomed into a leading full-service auction and real estate brokerage firm, boasting two prominent locations: Covington, Virginia, and White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
