Our History

Our story began in the 1950s when Myron Kaufman started building residential properties in Queens and Nassau County. Harold Basser, a family friend and fellow commercial real estate expert, joined forces with Myron to create Basser Kaufman in the early 1960s. Their first project together was the Woodmere Mews in Woodmere, New York, a successful garden apartment complex. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Basser Kaufman quickly grew into one of the premier shopping center developers in the tri-state area.

• Director of Construction and Property Management, Don O'Connor: With over 30 years of experience, Don has managed all types of real estate assets.
• Vice President, Sean Kemp: Joined Basser Kaufman in 2024 and assists with all aspects of the company.
