History

Baxter Properties was founded by Richard (Dick) Baxter, who worked with his brother Ed Jr. building custom homes in 1957. In 1968, Dick built Highgate Apartments with his father Ed working with him during the construction phase. A few years later, Dick built a second apartment community and took a break from construction to run the 300+ apartment homes. In the late 1980s, Dick's sons came into the business and led the company in a new direction, concentrating on commercial real estate. Today, the sons continue to carry the family's torch and preserve the reputation.
