Real World EXPERIENCE, Out of this World SERVICE!
Belmond Community Apartments, a non-profit organization, has been providing excellent retirement apartments in a small, safe, and progressive community for over five decades. Our history dates back to the early 1970s when a group of visionaries recognized the need for an apartment complex for the elderly following the Belmond tornado of 1966. The first complex, McBurney Apartments, opened in 1971, and since then, we have expanded to include Buseman Apartments, Rise Apartments, and Redder-McLaughlin Apartments, making a total of 100 apartments.
Our community is designed for active retirees who want independent living with the comfort of knowing that household maintenance tasks are taken care of. Residents can enjoy life to its fullest without worrying about shoveling snow, mowing the yard, or making repairs to their home. Our apartments range from 523 to 1040 square feet and are comfortably furnished. The Leinbach Community Center is a hub of activity, used daily by various community and private groups.
We are proud of our long history and the many lives we have touched. Currently, 19 of our tenants have reached or surpassed their 90th birthday, which is a testament to the quality of life we offer. Our community is governed by a local board and maintained by a dedicated staff who care deeply for the elderly tenants, giving our complex the genuine feeling of comfort and home.
