He mentions that the walls are paper-thin, and maintenance requests were often ignored or addressed with shoddy workmanship.

Both Ben and Sheree have issues with the pet policy, which includes charging rent for pets and imposing high fines for alleged infractions. Ben was fined $250 for allegedly not picking up after his dog, while Sheree received a $500 charge for not picking up her dog's poop, despite being meticulous about cleaning up after her pet.
